Disclosed herein area method, apparatus and computer program product to correlate service instance for a mobile station (MS), radio access network (RAN) and a packet data. serving node (PDSN) connection by exchanging identifiers between the entities involved in the connections. Also disclosed herein are a method, apparatus and computerprogram product to perform a handoff of a Mobile Node (MN) from a first Packet Data Serving Node (PDSN) associated with a first Radio Network (RN) to a second PDSN, associated with a second RN. As a non-limiting example, the method includes sending a handoff request message from the first RN to the second RN, and communicating between the second RN to the second PDSN and between the second PDSN and the first PDSN to accomplish the handoff; where Quality of Service (QoS) information associated with the MN in the first RN is sent to the second PDSN.
