The invention relates to a mobile telephone communications system. Said invention makes it posible to provide the user of a mobile communucations terminal with current meteorological information. The inventive broadcast information system comprises information storages which are connnected, via an information transmitting unit, to a central broadcast station for distributing information to cells, a mobile communications provider network which comprises base stations, a system for transmitting information from the central broadcast information distributing station to the base stations and mobile communications terminals. The information storages are embodied in the form of meteoroological stations which are located in different geographical regions and make it possible to update meteorological data. The central broadcast information distributing station is coupled to all the base stations of the network a regional mobile communication provider which are enabled to transmit meteorological data in the from of messages to the mobile communications terminals in the areas of action of said base stations. The meteoroological stations are provided with storage units.
