PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink cartridge which can appropriately communicate by radio both in a physical distribution state before it is set in a printer body and in a use when it is set in the printer body.;SOLUTION: Various kinds of information stored in an information storage medium 130 of a cartridge body 100 are transmitted by radio from a radio antenna 131. A communication range is large in the physical distribution state because the radio antenna 131 is long, while the communication range becomes small in the use because a radio antenna 132 becomes short. The printer body can communicate with the ink cartridge 100 by radio from the outside of a packing member in the physical distribution state. In the use, while the ink cartridge 100 and a communication unit of the printer body can communicate with each other by radio, radio waves are prevented from affecting a circuit board of the printer body or the like.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2004,JPO
