Robotized wheelchair with autonomous operational capacity. The present invention relates to a navigation system that allows the adaptation of a standard electric wheelchair so that it can move autonomously or semi-autonomously. Such modification includes the incorporation of a set of sensors, a standard portable computer (possibly connected to other computers wirelessly) and an electronic system based on microcontrollers. With this equipment, software processes sensory information and generates movement commands that the electronic system translates into signals to the chair's motors.
