Coordination polymers soluble homo and heterometallic based oxalate ligand and method for obtaining spinels from them.; These coordination polymers contain an organic molecule able to stabilize extended structures of metal complexes, such that are substantially soluble in water and insoluble in organic solvents. These polymers, when in solid state, leading to metal oxides of spinel or other mixed oxides after treatment comprising: preparing a solution containing the oxalate ligand and a metal salt, precipitation of both compounds with an organic molecule capable of stabilize extended structures of metal complexes, separating the precipitate obtained and heating under oxidising atmosphere until the formation of the mixed oxide. Water solubility exhibited by these compounds gives them a huge processability, opening the door to the design of magnetic ceramic inks as well as its nanostructuring on solid supports.
