A solid non-effervescent compressed dosage form comprising an ibuprofenmedicament and a carrier material comprising acompressible filler component combined with a disintegrating component whereinthe ibuprofen medicament is present to a an extentof 35 % or more by weight of the dosage form, characterised in that thecarrier material further includes an alkali metal carbonate orbicarbonate in an amount such that the dosage form has a crushing strength inthe range 6.5-15Kp and a disintegration time of less than 10minutes. Such rapidly disintegrating compositions are particularly valuable inthe treatment of pain and fever.
