The invention relates to a device for atomizing a liquid product, therebyforming a hollow cone of liquid, said deviceat least comprising a housing (11, 12) into which a first medium in the formof a liquid product for atomization can be supplied, saidhousing comprising an outflow end (10) and an insert piece (6) with a guideend (2) that interacts with an outflow end of the housing,thereby forming an annular outflow gap (9), characterised in that the housingof the device is accommodated in the bottom (8) of ahollow casing; and in that apertures (7) are present in the bottom of thehollow casing (1), while at least a second medium can besupplied into the hollow casing, which medium can flow out of the apertures(7) and interact with the hollow cone of liquid. Theinvention also relates to a spray drier, of which a device according to theinvention forms part, and also to a device for conditioninga liquid product using the invention. Finally, the invention relates to amethod for conditioning a liquid product, which method iscarried out using a device according to the invention.
