There are provided a composition for functioning asan effective additive for epoxy resin that is solid atroom temperature and has high storage stability, and amethod thereof. The composition of the present inventionis a basic silane coupling agent organic carboxylatecomposition obtained by first synthesizing an organiccarboxylate of a basic silane coupling agent by reactinga basic silane coupling agent and an organic carboxylicacid, and subsequently heating and mixing the organiccarboxylate of the basic silane coupling agent with acompound exhibiting good affinity for the basic silanecoupling agent or organic carboxylic acid and having asoftening point or melting point of 40°C or greater.
