VIBRATION SYSTEM ENABLING TARGETED THERAPY

A non-invasive imaging vibrator for use in remediation of blood flowdisturbancescomprising a vibration source operable to generate vibration at a frequency inthe rangeof 1- 1000 Hz and a phased array imaging transducer operatively attached to anactiveend of the vibration source, thereby enabling targeting of vibration via animagegenerated on an ultrasonic display. The preferred imaging vibrator is operableto emitvibration in the low frequency sonic range with an amplitude of about 0.1 mm -15 mm(and more preferably at least 2 mm), such as to provide an effectivetransthoracic tool foracute coronary applications. In a variation, means for emitting a therapeuticlowfrequency ultrasonic waveform in concert with vibration in the range of 1-1000 Hz(wherein both waveforms are simultaneously directed by high frequencyultrasonicimaging) is also provided.
