Findings by sports optometrists conclude that sporting hand eye coordinationis improved when high colour contrast between figure and ground exist.Ground is defined as any and all possible background colouring. Since such arelationship between vision and hand eye coordination occurs when anyarrangements that reduce vision perception are used in training it establishesatraining task that is above the norm and hence are expected to lead tosuperiorresults. Military targets may be prepared in camouflage, or any coloursexpected to be close to or replication of the naturally anticipated militarytarget backgrounds. High contrast improves visual performance and theaccompanying hand eye or hand foot coordination needed in both military andathletics leading to improved battleground and sport performance. It hencefollows that practicing with dis-coloured contrast, referred herein asspecificdis-colouration of the prime sports object, and military targets, challengesthemilitary personnel and athlete to elevate visual competence and performance.Training the eyes to handle less agreeable colours by use of the methoddescribed improves the visual acuity and associated hand-eye or foot-eyecoordination to raise athletic performance in contests and games and militaryperformance in battle.
