A method for polarmetric analysis of scattering media. A first step involvesdirecting stimulus from a linearly polarized stimulus source at a sample. Asecond stepinvolves directing the stimulus coming from the sample through a collimatingsystem intoa polarization segregation unit which causes the stimulus to be segregatedinto a linearlypolarized unscattered component and a depolarized scattered component. A thirdstepinvolves quantification of scattering processes through computationallycomparing theunscattered component and the scattered component.
