LUBRICITY ADDITIVES AND METHODS OF PRODUCING LUBRICITY ADDITIVES

Methods of producing lubricity additives and lubricity additives aredisclosed. Themethods of producing lubricity additives include removing sulfur from a talloil fatty acid to alevel of about 25 ppm or less and fractionally crystallizing the tall oilfatty acid to produce alubricity additive which does not form crystals at temperatures as low asabout -20 °F. Thesulfur may be removed prior to or after fractionally crystallizing the talloil fatty acid. Methodsof improving the lubricity of a fuel are also disclosed.
