Sulfenamide, vulcanization accelerator containing the sulfenamide for rubber, and process for producing the same

A sulfonamide-based vulcanization accelerator is provided which acts sufficiently slowly on a vulcanization reaction, generates no carcinogenic nitrosamine, and is free from hygienic or environmental problems such as bioaccumulation. Also provided is an N-alkyl-N-t-butylbenzothiazole-2-sulfenamide represented by formula (I). The vulcanization accelerator for rubbers contains this compound.
