CONTINUOUS POLYMERIZATION METHOD FOR THE GENERATION OF POLYMERS WITH NARROW MOLAR MASS DISTRIBUTION AND TAYLOR-COUETTE REACTOR FOR THE EXECUTION THEREOF
The subject matter of the invention is a Taylor-Couette reactor for the execution of mass polymerization, wherein the reactor has an outer wall and a rotor arranged concentrically therein, a reactor floor, and a reactor lid, which together define the annular gap-shaped reactor volume, at least one apparatus for the metered addition of starting material, and an apparatus for the discharge of the product. The apparatus for the metered addition of the starting material is arranged above the reactor base in the lower two-thirds of the reactor shell, and during polymerization, a modification of the kinematic viscosity v of the reaction medium occurs. Furthermore, the subject matter of the invention is a method for the continuous polymerization of monomers in mass in said Taylor-Couette reactor, wherein a modification of the kinematic viscosity v of the reaction medium occurs during polymerization.
