METHOD FOR INDEXING OBJECTS ON DIGITAL IMAGES AND METHOD FOR SEARCHING OBJECTS ON DIGITAL IMAGES

The invention relates to systems for automatically searching objects on images contained in files of different graphical formats which are located on the local computer of a user or in public resources, including Internet. The aim of the invention is to improve recognition reliability, increase recognition speed and to simplify a process for automatically indexing graphical files. The method is based on the analysis of the image digital representation with the view to determining the position of search objects, for example human faces. The found areas of the image are investigated in order to identify the potential presence of faces on the image using characterising features thereof. The preselected areas are classified in order to conclude about the presence of the face pictures therein. The areas selected as containing the faces are normalised, scaled and produced for recognition according to the base set of common face pictures. Then, the images from the base set are sequenced into a similarity range in the descending order of similarity with the submitted picture. The thus formed similarity range is used as an identifier for organising a search process.
