Disclosed is a resin composition containing (A) a metal-containing high-refractive-index intermediate, (B) a hydrophilic polymer or a hydrophilic oligomer, and/or (C) a hydrophilic reactive monomer. The metal-containing high-refractive-index intermediate (A) is obtained by mixing and heating a titanium alkoxide, an amino alcohol and water, and removing an alcohol as a by-product of the hydrolysis by distillation. Also disclosed are a film-like optical member using such a resin composition, and a method for producing such a resin composition.
