A STATISTICAL DATA MANAGING SYSTEM OF MIRRORED PACKETS ON THE VOIP NETWORK FOR REALTIME MONITORING AND PERFORMANCE TREND ANALYSIS AND THE METHOD THEREOF
Disclosed are a system and method for managing statistics and trends of packet flows of a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) network by extracting and managing statistical and trend values of packet flow by using all captured packets over the network and gathering the packet flow information with a packet capturing time as a generation time (GT). The method includes: (a) making combinations of packet flow factors, creating statistics tables for each combination, and receiving profiles to define a rule of extracting trend values by referring to said statistics tables; (b) periodically, when the packet flow information is stored, setting the progress state as an initial state for each generation time range (GTR), the GTR being a time range of the GTs of said packet flow information just stored; (c) periodically, finding GTRs whose progress state is the initial state, computing time series statistical data(or real-time statistics) for each combination, storing said statistical data in a statistics table of each combination, and updating the progress state of said GTR to the statistics completion state, and; (d) periodically, finding GTRs whose progress state is the statistics completion state, extracting trend values defined in all the profiles, in sequence from an earliest GTR, by referring to the statistics table, and updating the progress state of said GTR to the termination state. The system and method can compute real-time packet flow statistics and extract manager-desired trend values even when the number of packets of Internet telephones is very large in the VoIP network.
