A device (100) for controlling the display of the remaining amount of gas has a mass calculation section (112), a reference value setting section (114), and a display control section (116). The mass calculation section (112) acquires the pressure P and the temperature T of compressed hydrogen in a hydrogen tank (10) and calculates the mass of the compressed hydrogen in the hydrogen tank (10). The reference value setting section (114) sets, as a reference value, the mass calculated by the mass calculation section (112) when charging of compressed hydrogen gas into the hydrogen tank (10) is stopped due to predetermined conditions being satisfied. The display control section (116) calculates the ratio of the mass calculated by the mass calculation section (112) to the reference value, and based on this ratio, the display control section (116) causes the remaining amount of the compressed hydrogen in the hydrogen tank (10) to be displayed on a display device (200). When compressed hydrogen is charged into the hydrogen tank (10) until the filling is limited, the display of “FULL” can be reliably displayed on the display device (200).
