APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR FAST ESTABLISHING IP ADDRESS IN PORTABLE INTERNET NETWORK BASED ON PROXY MOBILE IP

An apparatus and method for fast establishing an Internet Protocol (IP) address to a Mobile Station (MS) in a Proxy Mobile IP (PMIP)-based portable internet network. A method for establishing an IP address of an MS by an Access Control Router (ACR) in a portable internet network including a Home Agent (HA) for managing mobility of the MS. The method includes performing authentication on an MS that requests an access through an Authentication, Authorization, Accounting (AAA) server; registering an IP address assigned to the MS in the HA as a Mobile IP address, and performing subscriber registration on the MS; registering a data path for the MS and registering a service property of the MS using the path; and upon receipt of a request for assignment of an IP address from the MS, assigning the IP address to the MS, and establishing a Mobile IP address for the MS.
