Kneadability of a material to be kneaded can be regulated precisely. A mechanism for regulating the kneadability is provided in a treatment system having a barrel, and a kneading screw with a kneading portion inserted rotatably into the barrel and kneading a material continuously while feeding the material from the upstream side toward the downstream side by rotating in the barrel. The mechanism for regulating the kneadability comprises a push-back portion provided on the downstream side of the kneading portion in the kneading screw and urging the material to stay around the kneading portion by pushing the material back to the upstream side, a kneadability regulation member having a surface facing the outer circumferential surface of the push-back portion, and a section for driving the kneadability regulation member such that the surface facing the outer circumferential surface of the push-back portion approaches the push-back portion or recedes therefrom.
