Power-saving, environmentally friendly, electric hotplate for use in households, with which meals can be taken at different times, characterized in that this hotplate has various heating parts which can be heated independently of one another, has a common power supply, but is equipped with separate integrated timers or time switches for each heating sector which allow the firing duration of the heater in the diverse heating sectors to be split or to be matched to requirements or to the desired meal times, as a result of which unnecessary power consumption, unnecessary radiation of heat and uncomfortable overheating of the homes is avoided. In addition to the cost saving made as a result of power not being required, climatic heating is also reduced and a contribution is made to environmental protection by this hotplate.
