The invention relates to a recombined cell system comprising an animal host cell, comprising a combined G protein-coupled specific receptor, and a recombined Ca2+ specific channel CNGA2. The invention also relates to a method for the production of the inventive cell system and to the use of said system for deorphanizing G protein-coupled receptors. The invention further relates to the use of said cell system in order to discover novel G protein-coupled receptors in gene banks.
