SETTING UP DEVELOPMENT ENVIRONMENT FOR COMPUTER BASED BUSINESS PROCESS

A method of setting up a development environment for development work on a computer based business process, involves providing a model (827) of the business process, to meet given non functional requirements, when deployed on physical infrastructure, wherein modelled software components and computing infrastructure have an association with corresponding tools. An arrangement of corresponding tools to form the development environment is determined from a predetermined mapping (821) based on inputs comprising a given purpose of the development work, and which parts of the model are to be developed. The selected parts of the model of the business process are deployed, and the given tools installed, to set up the development environment. By automating the choice and arrangement of tools, risks of errors, and time spent in setting up can be reduced.
