Provided is a wrong-way travel warning device (100) comprising: speed detection means (21) for detecting the speed of a driver's own vehicle; means (24) for detecting the position of the driver's own vehicle; angle detection means (22) for detecting the angle with respect to lane markings in the longitudinal direction of the driver's own vehicle when the speed of the driver's own vehicle is below a prescribed value; and warning means (32, 25) for warning the occupants of the vehicle when the angle has substantially reached 90° if the driver's own vehicle is travelling on the main carriageway of the motorway.
