An intraocular camera (10) is designed to be surgically implanted with the crystalline lens sac (220) posterior to the iris (210) and is centered along the optical axis by one or more haptic support elements (36). The intraocular camera (10) may be connected by a wired or wireless communication device (12) to the microstimulator driver circuit (14) which in turn is connected by a micro-connector cable (16) to a microstimulator array (18) implanted in the retina.
