An antenna coupling/correlation eliminating method and a radio apparatus having an antenna coupling/correlation eliminating function wherein the current induced in the second antenna and the noise components therein are picked up, then their amplitudes and phases are controlled such that a reception quality signal generated by a diversity reception part exhibits an optimum value, and then an output signal from the first antenna and an output signal from a first amplitude/phase adjusting part are additively combined. The coupling components of the first antenna induced in the second antenna can be canceled and further the noise components therein also can be canceled. Thus, what are the biggest factors of suppressing the reception sensitivity can be mainly canceled, so that the reception sensitivity can be optimized.
