The device i.e. magnetic field sensor (10), has substrates (20, 30) covered by thin film bands (21, 31) presenting colossal magnetoresistance phenomena, where the substrate (20) is made of lucalox(RTM: ceramic material) material. The band (21) and the substrates have a polycrystalline structure, and the band (31) has an epitaxial structure. The substrates are connected to coplanar metallic electrodes (23, 25, 33, 35), respectively. The substrates, the bands and the electrodes are wrapped in an envelope (45) made of dielectric material i.e. epoxy.
