Device and method for pneumatically measuring the external dimensions of work pieces

The device (1) has measuring nozzles (2, 3) provided at a distance from each other, with outlets and compressed air supply channels (4, 5). Separate pneumatic-electric converters (6, 7) assigned for each nozzle converts dynamic pressure, which results in the air supply channels of the nozzles during a measurement of a workpiece, into an electrical measured value. The compressed air supply channels of the nozzles are separated from each other up to the converters. An evaluation unit determines external dimensions of a cylindrical workpiece (8) by the value of the distance of the nozzles. An independent claim is also included for a method for pneumatically measuring external dimensions of a cylindrical workpiece.
