The system has a safety-related server unit (200) for controlling a safety based application process by processing safety based data and organization of transmission of the data via a network element and/or a network master unit (120) through a data transmission network (100) e.g. Ethernetnetwork. The element is associated with a non-safety based application process. The server unit is connected to the network by the master unit. The master unit provides resources for transmission of the data and management of access control, during transmission of the data via the network.
