Compound salts of diorganyl phosphinic acids and carbolic acids

Diorganylphosphinic acid and carboxylic acid salt (I), is new. Diorganylphosphinic acid and carboxylic acid salt of formula: ([Cation n+(phosphinate -) x(carboxylic acid anion z- 1/zy)]) (I), is new. Cation : an element of the second-, third-, fourth-, fifth-, sixth- or seventh- main group and/or their subgroups; phosphinate : an anion of diorganylphosphinic acid of formula (((R 1)(R 2)-P(=O)-O) -) (II); R 1, R 2H, 1-6C-alkyl, aryl, and/or hydroxyalkyl; carboxylic acid anion : 1-18C-carboxylic acid anion; n, z : 1-4; x : 0.01 to n-0.01; and y : n-x. Independent claims are included for: (1) the preparations of (I); (2) a flame retardant comprising 0.1-99.9 wt.% of (I) and a cation source; (3) a flame retardant mixture comprising 0.1-99.9 wt.% of (I) and at least an agent from the cation source and/or synergists; (4) a flame protective polymer molding mass comprising either (i) 0.1-39 wt.% of (I), 0.5-98.9 wt.% of polymer or its mixture, 0.5-50 wt.% of additives and 0-50 wt.% of filler and/or strengthening materials, or (ii) 0.5-45 wt.% of flame retardant and/or its mixture containing (I), 0.5-98.9 wt.% of polymer or its mixture, 0.5-50 wt.% of additives and 0-50 wt.% of filler and/or strengthening materials; and (5) a flame protective polymer molding body, film, threads and fibers comprising 1-50 wt.% of (I), flame retardant and/or its mixture containing (I), 1-99 wt.% of polymer or its mixture, 0-60 wt.% of additives and 0-60 wt.% of fillers.
