The inventive method for determining distances for the measurement of the chassis of a motor vehicle, particularly for determining a height level (H) or a rim diameter, comprises the recording of one image of each wheel rim (12) and at least one region adjacent to the wheel rim (12) by means of at least two measuring cameras of a measuring device, the determining of at least a first spatial point in the two recorded images; the determining of at least a second spatial point in the two recorded images; and the determining of the distance between the at least two spatial points.
