Mass propagation method through in vitro aseptic germination of Calanthe spp.

A method for mass-propagating a Calanthe sp. plant is provided to improve propagation of the Calanthe sp. plant by asymbiotic germination of aseptically collected seeds from shells of Calanthe discolor through in vitro germination and mass-producing virus tree plants through acclimation, thereby mass-producing superior seedlings of the Calanthe sp. plant economically. A method for mass-propagating a Calanthe sp. plant through in vitro aseptic germination comprises the steps of: (a) after collecting shells of Calanthe discolor and washing the collected shells, sterilizing the washed shells; (b) seeding Calanthe discolor seeds present in the Calanthe discolor shells into a culture container including a culture medium; (c) after moving the culture container to a culture room maintaining a room temperature, culturing it until protocorms are formed; (d) moving the protocorms to a culture container including a novel culture medium and allowing it to grow until it becomes a seedling transplantable to a pot; (e) taking the grown seedling out of the culture container and washing the seedling with water to remove agar or ingredients of the culture medium from roots and leaves of the seedling; (f) wrapping the seedling with a protection member such as vinyl bag and sealing container at room temperature for 7-10 days until new roots are grown; and (g) transplanting the seedling when the new roots are grown into a pot and covering the upper portion of the pot with bog moss.
