METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR CONTROLLING THE INTER-PROCESS VARIABLE LENGTH PACKET DATA FLOW USING THE SHARED MEMORY PAGING TECHNIQUES

A method and an apparatus for controlling inter-process variable length data flow by using a shared memory paging technique are provided to process data messages transmitted between processes and between threads only on a shared memory to prevent deterioration of the processing performance due to excessive memory copy. An apparatus for controlling flow of a message transmitted between application processes(215) includes a shared memory(225), first through nth session threads(255), and a session negotiator(230). The shared memory stores a variable length data message received from an application process and block information of the data message. The first through nth session threads update the block information according to a control signal of the application process and allocate a data block page for storing the data message. The session negotiator generates or deletes a session thread corresponding to the application process at the request of the application process.
