A method for setting up the initial screen of a browser is provided to display a page after reading it, thereby shortening the time required for loading the page. A method for setting up the initial screen of a browser comprises the following steps of: receiving a query which requests browser initial screen information from a mobile communication terminal(S503); reading out the browser initial screen information corresponding to the requested query under the control of a smart card controller(S570); and transmitting the read browser initial screen information to the mobile communication terminal by the control of the smart card controller(S580).
