A location-based information service system and a method thereof for applying antiprotonic effect are provided to reduce latency time in accordance with inquiries for location information, and to ensure faster inquiry processing speed, thereby offering a location based service quickly and improving usage rates of each node. A location information server comprises as follows. A location information operation unit(520) operates location information by using antiprotonic effect on the location information toward a 2-dimensional space domain. An MBR(Minimum Bounding Rectangle) tree generator(530) generates an MBR tree according to the operated location information. A location information storage(540) stores location information in accordance with the MBR tree.
