A backlight unit including a prism sheet for improving the display quality and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to reduce the thickness of the liquid crystal display device by removing one of a protection sheet or a light diffusing sheet. A prism sheet(130) comprises the material(132) and the prism pattern(134) formed on the device. The device transmits the light from the outside. A prism pattern is formed having a triangle shape on the YZ planar along the X-axis direction. A prism pattern partly condenses the light which is income from the external light source due to the shape of the prism pattern. The prism pattern partly diffuses the light which is income through the bubble formed inside from the external light source.
