A semiconductor memory device capable of writing and reading safely data from a power attack and a method thereof are provided to write and read safely data from power attack by randomizing the data stored in the memory. A semiconductor memory device(10) includes a CPU(12), a random converter(14), and a memory unit(16). The CPU outputs an address through an address line(B5) and outputs data through a data line. The random converter receives the data, randomizes the received data, and output random data(R-DATA). The memory unit receives the address and stores the random data in the received address.
