An apparatus and a method for detecting signal with hidden pilots are provided to improve channel estimation accuracy by using a detected signal in broadband wireless telecommunications system. An estimator(112) estimates a channel value at an n-th repetition step using a hidden pilot signal and a transmission symbol block which is detected at an(n-1)th repetition step. A detector(110) detects a transmission symbol block from the received signal by using the channel value of the n-th repetition step and provides the transmission symbol block, which is detected based on a channel value estimation at a(n+1)th repetition step, to the estimator.
