A DVR system using a multi-channel split-screen mode and a driving method thereof for effectively recording video tape whenever an event is generated by using a motion sensor are provided to monitor the search of a specific channel by using various search methods. If a DVR(Digital Video Recorder) signal are input in the signal input part or the storage(S210), a screen partition part automatically divides into the number of the set screen. The screen of the display device is divided while maintaining the aspect ratio of each channel(S212). A display screen is divided into a plurality of screens by maintaining screen ratio of each channel. The display controller indicates the image of the inputted digital video recorder signal in the screen divided in the screen partition part(S214).
