PROTECTION CIRCUIT OF BATTERY PACK, BATTERY PACK USING THE SAME AND ITS OPERATING METHOD

A protection circuit of a battery pack, a battery pack including the same, and an operation method thereof are provided to protect a battery pack from danger of firing, combustion, or explosion by controlling a charge/discharge device part according to temperature sensed by a temperature sensor. A charge/discharge device part(530) is positioned on a high current path of a battery pack. A temperature sensor(540) senses temperature of a battery(400). A primary protection circuit(510) is connected to the temperature sensor and the charge/discharge device part, controls the charge/discharge device part according to the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor, and includes a reference setting part(516), a comparator(514), and an FET(Field Effect Transistor) driving part(512). The reference setting part outputs a reference operation temperature in charging and discharging. The comparator is connected to the temperature sensor and the reference setting part, and outputs an error operation signal or a normal operation signal by comparing the reference operation temperature with the temperature sensed by the temperature sensor. The FET driving part is connected to the comparator and the charge/discharge device part, and controls the charge/discharge device part in response to the error operation signal or the normal operation signal.
