A cooperative diversity-based wireless communication system, a cooperative relay method and a repeater are provided to considerably reduce the amount of feedback information and remove the necessity of Tx power distribution. A cooperative relay method includes the following steps. Each repeater receives a signal transmitted from a transmitting stage through a channel(S110), and decodes the received signal to restore a message(S120). The phase information of a forwarding channel is extracted(S130). By referring to the extracted phase characteristic of a channel, the phase compensation of a transmission signal(S140). The phase-compensated transmission signal is transmitted to a receiving stage(S150).
