LONG-ARC TYPE DISCHARGE LAMP AND ULTRAVIOLET IRRADIATION APPARATUS COMPRISING LONG-ARC TYPE DISCHARGE LAMP

A long-arc type discharge lamp and ultraviolet irradiation apparatus is provided to detect a piece due to the broken of lighting tube and a protective tube by installing fragment capturing body outside of the protective tube. A pair of electrode(13) is separated from each other within an enclosure of a lighting-region(11) of the long arc type discharge lamp. The long arc type discharge lamp comprises an arc tube(10) and a protective tube(20), and the lighting tube seals the luminescent material. The protective tube is positioned at the diameter direction outside of the lighting tube along the pipe shaft of the lighting tube. The lighting-region is arranged to be adjacent to or contacted with the protective tube. A fragment capturing body(30) is installed at the diametric direction outside of the protective tube.
