A COMPOSITION COMPRISING PENTAPHYLLOIDES FRUTICOSA EXTRACT AS AN ACTIVE INGREDIENT

A composition containing Pentaphylloides fruticosa extracts with anti-wrinkle and antioxidant activities is provided to show wrinkle and elasticity improvement by the Pentaphylloides fruticosa extracts having effects of inhibiting type I collagenase and AP-1 and increasing generation of collagen while suppressing decomposition of the collagen. A composition comprises Pentaphylloides fruticosa extracts obtained by adding water and alcohol or a mixed solvent thereof. The Pentaphylloides fruticosa has capability of eliminating radicals. The alcohol represents C1-C4 low alcohol such as ethanol and methanol. The composition containing Pentaphylloides fruticosa extracts is used for treating diseases caused by a large amount of accumulated active oxygen. The diseases caused by a large amount of accumulated active oxygen are liver disease, stroke, myocardial infarction, diabetic blood vessel disorder, hyperlipidemia, acute inflammation, rheumatic or cancer. The composition has a formulation of external skin application.
