SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR UPGRADING FIRMWARE OF VOIP PHONE USING SIP AND RTP

A system and a method for upgrading a firmware of a VoIP phone by using SIP and RTP are provided to exchange the firmware version of an internet phone by using an SIP(Session Initiation Protocol)-based message and transmit a firmware file in real time by using an RTP(Real-time Transport Protocol) in order to upgrade a firmware of an internet phone. An internet phone(100) includes the followings. A firmware information manager(110) manages phone information and firmware information, and an SIP processor(120) transmits an SIP message, that includes the phone information and the firmware information, to a firmware management server(200). An RTP processor(130) receives the firmware file from the firmware management server by using an RTP. A firmware processor(140) executes the firmware file to upgrade the firmware of the internet phone.
