A wakeup apparatus for a low power sensor node and a method thereof are provided to minimize unnecessary power consumption and noise power, thereby improving battery efficiency of a sensor node and minimizing power of a sensor network. A wakeup baseband converter(203) detects a wakeup address from a wakeup signal performing filtering and amplification. The wakeup baseband converter compares a wakeup address assigned from a server managing a sensor node with the wakeup address. If error does not occur in address verification, the wakeup baseband converter outputs an interrupt signal for sensing event transmission of the sensor node or outputs a wakeup operation signal of another sensor node inside a region to be monitored.
