A handover authentication method in a fast mobile IPv6 network is provided to perform a PBS(Perfect Backward Serecy) security function by using a DH(Diffie-Hellman) algorithm. A MN(Mobile Node)(301) performs an RtSolPr process and a PrRtAdv process(S351,S352). The MN performs a handover authentication process. The MN generates a DH private key x. The MN generates an authentication value M-1. The MN transmits a handover authentication request message to a NAR(303)(S353). A PAR(302) receives a HAReq(Handover Authentication Request) message from the NAR(S354). The PAR verifies the M-1 value. The PAR calculates a DH public key of the MN. The PAR transmits a HAResp(Handover Authentication Response) message to the NAR(S355). The NAR transmits the HAResp message to the MN(S356).
