MAGNETIC CARRIER COMPRISING IMMOBILIZED ENZYME FOR INHIBITING BIOFILM FORMATION, AND MEMBRANE BIOREACTOR SYSTEM FOR WATER TREATMENT USING THE SAME

A magnetic carrier and a membrane bioreactor system for water treatment using the same are provided to improve the filtration performance of membranes, recycle the enzyme and stably operate the water treatment process for a long time compared to the conventional membrane bioreactor process. A magnetic carrier comprises a magnetic core, an enzyme immobilizing layer formed on the magnetic core, and an enzyme for inhibiting the biofilm formation which is immobilized onto the enzyme immobilizing layer. The magnetic core is powders, particles, beads, or resins comprising magnetic substances. The enzyme immobilizing layer is laid up on the magnetic core by an electrostatic interaction. The enzyme immobilizing layer is formed of chitosan, poly(2-hydroxyethyl methacrylate) or cellulose. The enzyme for inhibiting the biofilm formation is a quorum sensing inhibition enzyme.
