An apparatus and a method for correcting a rotation axis are provided to improve resolution of an image in a SPECT(Single Photon Emission Computed Tomography) system by correcting an error of a rotation axis of a step motor. A pinhole collimator(20) has a pinhole(21). A step motor(30) rotates a subject. The step motor is mounted on a stage(50). A mirror(40) is attached on an entrance of the pinhole. A laser generator(60) is installed on the stage. The laser generator irradiates an incident beam to the mirror. A beam detecting unit detects a beam axis position of an emission beam reflected from the mirror. The beam detecting unit is a beam display window(80). The beam display window is arranged in a front of the laser generator. The beam display window has a beam emission hole(81).
