PATH SELECTION PROCEDURE IN MESH NETWORK AND FORMAT OF PATH REQUEST FRAME THEREFOR

A path selection procedure in a mesh network and a path request frame format therefor are provided to select a transmission path in consideration of whether an MP(Mesh Point) operates in PSM(Power Save Mode) or AM(Active Mode). A source MP transmits a path request element to discover one or more destination MPs. The path request element comprises a corresponding destination flag field for limiting a path selection condition by the destination MP from the source MP. The corresponding destination flag field includes a flag considering a power management mode to control forwarding of the path request element received according to power management mode of the intermediate MP.
