DEVICE FOR SETTING A WORKING START POINT IN A MACHINE TOOL TO PREVENT AN ERROR ACCORDING TO CORRECTION PERIOD

PURPOSE: A device for setting a working start point in a machine tool is provided to set a proper working star point in real time without inputting the length difference of each tool to the controller of the machine tool.;CONSTITUTION: A device for setting a working start point is applied to a machine tool(2) which mounts a tool(4) on a spindle(3) to process a work piece(W). The device includes a sensor block(10), a moving unit(20), and a controller(30). The sensor block is installed adjacent to the tool to move up and down, and equipped with a sensor(11) detecting the presence of a tool. The moving unit moves the sensor block up and down between a processing position contacting with the work piece and a return position retreated till the upper side of a tool. The controller moves the sensor block to the processing position from the return position and drops a tool when the tool starts processing the work piece. The controller returns the sensor block back to the return position and at the same time operates the spindle so that the tool processes the work piece when the sensor senses the tool has reached the determined height of the work piece.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
